You're now on a user page, created and added to the site entirely by the site owner. That could be you!
You can create as many or as few of these pages as you want in the site dashboard using the "Pages" facility. Every page created here will automatically be added to the user menu, the type and location of which changes depend on the template, but on this demo, it's the little hamburger (menu) icon that sits in the main navigation bar on the right-hand side.
The "About Us" page in the user menu is also created using this feature.
By creating pages you are expanding your website, so making it more interesting and engaging to your site visitor and more importantly improving it's search rankings.
We often get asked, "should I add this content to the site as a page or a new post?". We say it depends on the content. If it's time sensitive, so say it's advertising a special promotion, or a forthcoming event or the subject of the content is only relevant for a short period, we say add it as a news post. If the content is going to be of interest for a longer period, so say it's a page about a permanent service you offer, or a range of products you permanently sell, add it as a page.
You can link to pages (and news articles) from any editable content section on the site, so drawing attention to the page.
As well as putting text in columns you can also centre align it; this again helps make the page visually appealing and draw attention to certain sections.
As well as centre aligning content, you can restrict the width it takes up on the page. Finally, as you can see below, you can also put content (text and images) into columns. This helps make the page visually appealing and draw attention to certain sections.
Finally, images can be added, just drag them to the page, and resize accordingly
All pages created using the Pages feature are automatically added to the right-hand side of the menu panel.
User created pages can also be added to the main menu although this is not something you can do, as it requires editing the entire site navigation system, we can do it for you. There are caveats, depending on the template your site uses, but if you want to add a page, just let us know.
Adding user pages to the main nav is a chargeable task, billed under our regular "content management" fee at £25 per hour plus VAT. Typically adding a page takes 30mins.
